A Stepped Needle is a specialized medical needle constructed by joining multiple micro-tubes with different outer diameters, creating a step-down structure toward the needle tip.

This stepped structure is commonly used in intraosseous infusion systems to prevent excessive penetration during emergency procedures, particularly in pediatric or emergency medicine applications.

Stepped needles are also used in central nervous system drug delivery systems such as CED (Convection-Enhanced Delivery), where the stepped design helps prevent drug backflow along the needle tract and maintains stable delivery pressure.
